• Question: what do you like about flamingos?

      Hey! That’s a great question. There’s a few things that I like about them.

      First, I think its pretty cool that they can stand on one leg – not many animals can do that (I’ve tried it and I can’t do it for nearly as long as a flamingo can!).

      Also, in the wild they live in some really nice places, and I got to visit some of these for my research. There are 6 different kinds of flamingo found in the world. The nearest ones to us are in Spain, France, and Italy…so it was nice to go there for a while and escape the rain!

      The others are found in Africa, in the Caribbean, and South America. The ones I’d really like to visit are in South America – mostly because I also really want to go to see the rainforests there!

      I like that they live in huge flocks and build their nests out of mud to keep their eggs safe from predators.

      I love the colour of the pink flamingos, the elegance of their body and the way they all gather together to forage by the water!

      I also like the flamenco dance but I am not sure it is related …. is it?
