nanomaterials are like the superheros of the material world. they have amazing abilities and properties. I wanted to be a nanoscients so i could work with these cool materials and discover new things about them. Because they are so small, scientists have only know about them and been able to work with them for about 25 years. if you think about it, the various eras that humans have lived in have often been labled by the most advanced materials available at the time (stone age, bronze age, paper age, computer age). we are entering the nano age now. the reason your smart phone is so smart, that you can touch the screen of your iPad, that you can fly in a new Boeing787 is all because nanomaterials are so amazing

Well, I’m not a nanoscientist but it does seem pretty cool what Shane is doing!

I prefer zoology and environmental science, and I love working with flamingos to try and link environmental health with human health, by investigating diseases that are found in lakes and estuaries.

I agree. Shane’s work sounds cool. But like Eileen, I prefer working on living things. 🙂
