Question: hey Eileen :) out of all the scientists i think your job is the most interesting and strange! I never thought that someones job would be taking samples from flamingo bums lol have you ever been attacked by a flamingo before?

  Haha, thanks! Its funny, isn’t it how something so weird (like samples from flamingo bums) can actually be useful for science. Already, some of these samples are showing just how polluted the water in their environments can be. And this is especially important in places like Kenya, where not everybody has access to clean drinking water (because humans can get diseases from the water).
  
  When I was taking the samples, some of the flamingos were a little bit feisty. They’re sort of mischievous, and sometimes they would try to bite me! But they don’t have teeth like we do, so it didnt really hurt – just a little bit of a nip on my arm 🙂
